Read the following case carefully and answer the questions that follow:
Writing is one of the parts of communication highly taken into account in Business Communication. The writing has different process to be followed for appropriate delegation of information, persuasion, establishing credibility, building goodwill and many more. Different writing experts value it as a weapon and the strength to success. Thus, writing must be a good tool for enhancing Business Communication.
Similarly, writing is a process. According to the experts of writing, technically and academically sound writings should go through different steps i.e. Prewriting/Planning, Drafting/Writing, Editing and Proofreading. For this purpose, case should have practice for several times and make it a habit. Once it becomes habit, writing becomes better with less mistakes. Moreover, the beginners need a lot of patience for developing writing skills following the steps honestly and proper guidance.
Further, Peter Elbow considers writing as 'voice'. In this regard, writing gives ones opinion, idea and attitude. Therefore, writing in Business Communication hint at the graceful and conscious delivery of message to the reader/receiver/audience. When the writing misses these purposes the relationship in Business World can be destroyed. So, Elbow's opinion on writing should get appropriate space in Business Communication.
In addition, formatting any electronic and other messages, we should properly, carefully and patiently format them. One who recklessly drafts any form of writing may be the prime reason behind the worse relationship with the stakeholders of Business World. Further, the writing moves to diverse cultural workplaces, thus, one should be highly cautions while writing in low-context culture where writing is valued over and in comparison to high-context culture giving value to oral communication. Thus, writing is key element for successful Communication.
Consequently, with different situations, opinions and the steps to be followed, writing is the tool to enhance business houses to compete in the Business World. Other easier and highly practical steps should come up the development of human world. So, writing should not be neglected in Business Communication.
